After years behind the decks, several acclaimed compilations from the groundbreaking Eskimo series, not to mention Culture Club, Serie Noire, K7! and Fabric compilations, The Glimmers are finally ready to unleash their debut artist album. Titled The Glimmers Are Gee Gee Fazzi, it sees Mo Becha and David Fouquaert collaborating with a host of guests, including Anu Pillai from Freeform Five, Ray Mang, CJ Bolland, Princess Superstar, Lindstrom & Prins Thomas and Padded Cell. The album, which also includes a cover of Olivia Newton-John’s Physical and a re-working of the classic Spanish-rave-acid-house stormer Esta Si, Esta No (Asi Me Gusta A Mi), is out on March 10 on the Glimmers’ own label. Here are the boys to give us a quick track-by-track rundown…

Intro by Cantankerous
For those who know, she needs no introduction – and she made ours!
Frantic
Based on a simple but effective drum pattern and some orchestral stabs, this tune is a winner and was always meant to be the opener. Made together with long-time collaborator Ray Mang.
Physical
This is an edit of an extended version made of Let's Get Physical, which in its original form till now was only available as a download on iTunes under the artist name Disko Drunkards. This song is originally performed by Olivia Newton John.
Kobe's In Columbia
Based on a killer Linn drum pattern by Bob George, this track was created at CJ Bolland’s studio, but never got finished. Then, when we had some spare time during their Shirley Bassey remix session, we finished this one with Ray Mang. Percussion is by Kobe.
Time For Action
This one is written and performed with Anu Pillai. The original version was always a winner for the album, but when we heard Padded Cell's interpretation, we knew that this was the one.
I'd Much Rather Go (Out With The Boys)
Originally a remix for Belgian singer/songwriter Admiral Freebee. The record company thought we went a bit too far, so they refused it. We loved it so much, we couldn't leave this one unreleased. So we made a deal with the record company, and here it is.
Esta Si, Esta No (Esta Me Gusta A Mi)
A cover version of Chimo Bayo's early 90s rave classic. We played the accapella of the original version a lot and we thought of doing a version. We used his vocals to create new music, and then had the lyrics re-recorded by the one and only Baby G.
Kiss Me
Created from an accidental jam session with Foxylane while we were expecting Anu Pillai. But Anu got ill and never made the jam session, and we created this monster jam in one night. The finishing touch and the mixing happened at CJ Bolland's studio.
Wanna Make Out
An instrumental track made with Anu – in about two hours that was sent out to Princess Superstar and we got it back in this form. She made it sound very sexy. We did some arrangement, mixed it, and here's the result.
Wanna Make Out (Part II)
This is the dub version in its original form we got sent by our all-time favourite Optimo Espacio's Keith. It was intended for use on the Fabric mix we did in December 2006. But then Kobe's In Columbia suited better and this one got shelved, till now.
Music For Dreams
A crazy jam session in Oslo with Lindstrom and Prins Thomas resulted in a track called Los Angeles. The rough version was so good that we thought: “Why change it? Let's leave it like it is.” But when we were approached for doing a mix for Kenneth Bager's Fragment One, with a mix in return, we gave him our session with the Oslo boys, with this epic journey as the result. A perfect ending for this album.

The Glimmers Are Gee Gee Fazzi is out on www.glimmertwins.com on March 10. The UK launch party is at Turnmills, London, on February 23, where copies of the album will be given away. Visit www.glimmertwins.com and www.myspace.com/theglimmers
