Buzzin' Fly Records celebrates its fifth birthday on June 23 with the release of a three-disc compilation – two parts retrospective, one part new tracks – called 5 Golden Years In The Wilderness. Set up by Ben Watt, right, in 2003, and as well-known for its acclaimed artwork, website, radio show and rocking parties as for its releases, Buzzin' Fly has become one of the leading UK independents focussing on leading-edge underground deep house and techno. It’s been named best breakthrough label at the House Music Awards, and was DJ Magazine’s Best Of British Awards best label runner-up last year. This new triple pack perfectly sums up the past, present and future of Buzzin’ Fly.
CD one, subtitled Up, includes 10 of the hottest floor tracks the label has released in their full versions, while CD two, subtitled Down, represents the deeper tracks put out by the imprint. CD three, Forward, is a clutch of brand new, recently signed tracks from the likes of Gavin Herlihy, Stimming, Spencer Parker, Lovebirds, BarBQ and Here Today. And look out for a big party at The End in London to help launch the album and get the birthday celebrations going.
